Tour around Macc Forest & Kerridge
A route that includes four “Red” climbs. The first climb is up Wizard Hill from Alderley Edge. The second is Ridge Hill to reach just over 1000’ above sea-level. After a fairly swift descent into Macclesfield Forest and onwards into Langley, the route ventures onto Coalpit Lane - a “Quiet Lane” with a sharp ascent and an initial gradient of around 20%. The final “Red” climb is Lidgetts Lane - a short section of road but reasonably steep and challenging. With most of the climbing out of the way, the route descends through Kerridge and back to Wilmslow via Prestbury.

Double Wizard
This route is centred on 2 climbs up to the “Edge” of Alderley Edge by the Wizard pub. The first circuit is up the slightly easier and quieter Artists Lane, with a looping descent via Mottram St. Andrew. The second pass involves
climbing the main road route and turning off for a quieter descent down Birtles lane. The route then has 2 short A-road sections before treating you to 3 miles of unbroken, smooth cycle path alongside the Alderley Edge bypass before navigating through Wilmslow town centre to return to the start.
