Cheshire’s terrain is noted for its Plain, but it also borders the Peak District and has a distinctive ridge running from Frodsham to Whitchurch, thus offering a fantastic range of cycling to suit all tastes.

This book comprises a collection of ten scenic routes, ranging from 33 to 100km – each starting from a different location. Where possible, the routes avoid the main roads and follow either cycle paths or quiet lanes. Five of the routes are fairly flat and the other five offer a range of climbs – the pinnacle being the infamous Mow Cop!

Photographs and detailed route maps are included, and all the routes are available for free download for navigation purposes.

The Carden Park Route is 53km and is fairly flat with a single notable climb.

The Audlem Route is 82km and has no notable climbs.

The Tatton Park 80 Route is 80km and fairly flat.

The Portal 100 Route is 100km and fairly flat.

Laureen’s Ride is a 53km waymarked horse-riding and cycling route that includes a significant amount of low-level, off-road riding – ideal for gravel and hybrid bikes (or an easy ride on a mountain bike).

The Great Budworth Route is 63km with rolling terrain and has three moderate climbs.

The Winsford Route is 60km and includes four notable climbs.

The Mow Cop Route is 48km - the clue is in the name - with one of the toughest climbs in the county!

The Big Hills Route is 54km and includes three challenging “Black-rated” climbs

The Macc Forest Route is for gravel and MTB and although it’s only 33km is does pack quite a punch!
